How to Transfer YouTube Videos to Another Channel

Moving videos between YouTube channels
TL;DR YouTube has no button to move a video between channels. A "transfer" is really a download-and-re-upload: you pull the videos from the old channel and upload them to the new one, carrying over titles, descriptions, and thumbnails. For a whole library, a done-for-you migration handles it so you don't re-upload by hand. Note: the re-uploaded videos start fresh — views, likes, and comments don't carry over.

Why there's no "transfer" button

YouTube ties each video to the channel it was uploaded on. There's no native way to reassign a video to a different channel or Brand Account. So every method below comes down to the same two steps: get the video files out, and put them back up on the destination channel.

The manual way (a few videos)

  1. Download each video from the source channel in its original quality.
  2. Save the title, description, tags, and thumbnail for each.
  3. Re-upload to the destination channel and paste the metadata back in.
  4. Set visibility and, if needed, rebuild playlists.

Fine for five videos. For fifty or five hundred, the re-typing and re-uploading is where days disappear — and it's easy to lose thumbnails or scramble the order.

The done-for-you way (a whole channel)

A migration service does the whole thing for you: it pulls every video from the source channel and re-uploads them to the destination with titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and captions intact, in the right order. You approve a free sample first, then the full library moves. This is the practical route for moving a real catalog, or for backing a channel up before you switch.

What carries over — and what doesn't

Moving to a different platform instead?

If you're leaving YouTube for Vimeo, Bunny, or a course platform, the same download-and-re-upload applies across platforms — see our platform-to-platform migration guides.

FAQ

Can you transfer videos from one YouTube channel to another?
Not directly — YouTube has no transfer button. You download from the first channel and re-upload to the second, keeping titles, descriptions, and thumbnails.

Will transferred videos keep their views and comments?
No. A transfer is a re-upload, so the new videos start fresh. Only the media and metadata carry over.

How do I move a whole channel?
Download every video and re-upload to the destination, carrying metadata over. Done-for-you migration handles the full library.
